A group of independent experts on medicine and health economics is preparing a seminar intended for the presentation of a new publication. The presentation will bring to the fore the treatment of patients with chronic diseases, with an emphasis on the burden these diseases cause. The variability among individual European countries and the socio-economic influence of chronic disease will be illustrated. In addition, different methods for evaluating the technical and financial adequacy and the efficiency of different approaches to medical treatment will also be highlighted.
