The main objective of the Exhibition is to draw attention to chemicals safety awareness throughout EU by visual presentation of representatives of several typical segments of modern society together with some chemicals containing products they most often use in their everyday life. It will be first held in June in Brussels and later move to other capitals of Member states wishing to join the project.

INVITATION

You are cordially invited to the opening of an exhibition entitled "CHEMICAL LOVERS", which will be held on 2 June at 13.15 in Brussels, in the Justus Lipsius Building, Rue de la Loi 175.  The exhibition will be opened by Minister of Health Zofija Mazej Kukovič.

The aim of the exhibition is to underline the importance of the safe use of chemicals and to communicate chemical safety messages that reflect the common objective – the protection of health and the environment.

The exhibition consists of attractive photos depicting ordinary people interacting with chemicals in their everyday life. The primary goal is to show the public that chemicals have become an integral part of our modern way of life. The second aim of the exhibition is to alert people about actions they can take when selecting, using and disposing of chemicals in order to maximise their benefits and minimise potential detrimental effects on human health and the environment. Each photo is accompanied by a message. There are many actions people can take with regards to chemicals that will help protect human health and the environment. Therefore, the overriding message of the exhibition is, “Chemical safety is in your hands.”

With this exhibition Slovenia wishes to complement and support the efforts of the European Commission, the ECHA and other countries in making our life more sustainable.
