Born 4 March 1970, BA (economics)


He received his bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Maribor, where he acquired excellent knowledge of business economics, commercial law, management, finance, financial operations and other related fields. His professional career brought him to managerial positions in various major Slovenian companies, including Mercator, Petrol, and Semenarna Ljubljana. Some of his professional experience is also the result of working for foreign companies with representative offices in Slovenia. From 1 January 2018 until his nomination as minister, he served as the general manager at the largest healthcare institution in Slovenia, the Ljubljana University Medical Centre, where he organised work, prepared the operational and financial plan, drew up basic business policies and the rehabilitation plan, and participated in negotiations with various stakeholders.


He is fluent in English, Croatian, German and Serbian.


He likes spending his spare time outdoors and playing sports. He also enjoys reading, especially books on history and biographies.
