Born on 4th March 1970, BA in Economics


Mr. Šabeder received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Maribor, where he acquired excellent knowledge of business economics, commercial law, management, finance, financial operations and other related fields. His professional career brought him to managerial positions in various major Slovenian companies, including Mercator, Petrol, and Semenarna Ljubljana. Some of his professional experience is also the result of working for foreign companies with representative offices in Slovenia. From 1st January 2018 until his nomination as minister, he served as the general manager at the largest public health care institution in Slovenia, the Ljubljana University Medical Centre, where he organised work, prepared the operational and financial plan, drew up basic business policies and financial restructuring, and participated in negotiations with various stakeholders.


Mr. Šabeder is fluent in English, Croatian, German and Serbian.


He likes spending his spare time outdoors and playing sports. He also enjoys reading, especially books on history and biographies.
